Grilled Pear, Walnut & Blue Cheese Salad

Grilled pears, Saint Agur blue veined cheese and walnuts tossed with a mixed leaf salad and a mustard dressing.


  • 100g of walnuts pieces, coarsely chopped
  • 140g of mixed salad leaves
  • 150g of Saint Agur blue veined cheese or similar, crumbled
  • 2 medium ripe dessert pears (200g each), peeled, cored and thickly sliced
  • 2 tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 90 ml olive oil (6 tbsp)
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  1. Preheat the grill. Brush the pears with the lemon juice and place on a baking tray. Grill for 3-4 minutes, on each side, or until beginning to brown.
  2. Meanwhile, to make the dressing, mix together the olive oil, red wine vinegar and mustard and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Toss the mixed salad leaves, walnuts, blue cheese and pears with the dressing and serve immediately.
